Salvia × jamensis ‘Javier’ sage

Salvia x jamensis “Javier”

Growing to about 30”/ 75cm, “Javier” is a beautiful light violet, lighter than “Nachtvlinder” but not a lavender.  Its foliage is also lighter in color.

It seems to come into flower a little bit later than most of the others and to stop later as well.  The shrubs are fairly compact and give a good punch of color.

It is hardy here, but, a word of warning: it looks quite miserable after the winter.  Do not be dismayed; a light pruning will soon see it covered in leaves and growing vigorously.

Excellent.
