Lilium Laverne Freeman
The color of this lily is so luscious, like crushed raspberries and the narrow white edge sets that color off perfectly. With its long elegant anthers and upcurving petals, it is a fantasy of oriental charm.
It flowers towards the end of July, but is so worth the wait! Fragrant, of course.
It is named after LaVerne Freeman, a breeding pioneer who created the first commercially available Orienpet “Scarlet Delight” in the early 80’s.
Like other orienpets it is completely hardy with sturdy stems, impervious to wind and growing taller and more impressive every year.
